FMTLY processes JSON in your browser. Optional website analytics are controlled separately from your documents and local drafts.
Your JSON documents
The editor does not send JSON documents to a formatting, validation or comparison server. These operations run on your device. Opening a file reads it locally, and downloading a result creates a file in your browser.
With Remember workspace off, documents and schemas are not automatically saved for the next visit. Turning it on saves open tabs, attached schemas and revision history in this browser. Turning it off deletes the saved workspace and revision history. Comparison documents are not automatically saved. Browser storage is not a backup and can be cleared by your browser.
Local settings
The browser may store appearance, editor layout and comparison preferences, including identity fields and ignored paths. Your analytics choice is stored locally for up to 180 days under fmtly.analytics-consent.v1. Clearing site data removes these settings and any saved workspace.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity load only after you select Allow analytics, or return with a saved, unexpired permission. Choosing Essential only keeps these scripts unloaded on a fresh page. The editor works either way. Analytics are enabled only on the HTTPS fmtly.com website and its www host.
- Google Analytics measures visits and usage. This implementation sends a fixed page title and page URL without query strings or fragments; it does not include document contents or filenames in its event payload. Advertising storage, advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in the page configuration.
- Microsoft Clarity measures interactions and can create heatmaps and session recordings. Page text, including the editor, filenames, search results and dialogs, is marked for masking. Clarity may still collect interaction and layout information, visited URLs and device or browser details.
When enabled, these third-party scripts run in the page and contact Google and Microsoft. Requests can convey your IP address, browser information and usage data; analytics services may derive approximate location. Masking reduces captured text but is not a guarantee of confidentiality. Keep analytics off when working with sensitive information.
Analytics cookies may include _ga and related Google Analytics cookies, plus Clarity’s _clck and _clsk. Providers control their processing and retention. Read Google’s privacy policy and Microsoft’s privacy statement.
Change your choice
Use Cookie settings in the footer at any time. Choosing Essential only disables Google Analytics collection, tells Clarity to stop and removes accessible analytics cookies for this site. Requests already sent or in flight cannot be recalled. If you allow analytics again on the same page, it resumes on the next page load; the editor is never automatically reloaded.
If browser storage is unavailable, the choice applies to the current page only. A choice made in another tab is applied here when the browser delivers the storage change. The consent panel and this page do not require an account.
Website delivery
Your browser contacts the hosting service to retrieve the website and its assets. Hosting or delivery providers may keep ordinary request logs. Such requests are separate from JSON processing and optional analytics.
